Whew” we made it through a very turbulent winter season and now it’s time to shed those overcoats, boots and gloves for warmer weather!! So having dinner and drinks a few weekends ago with my cluster of fabulous friends we all agreed that we need to take a short get away and have some fun in the sun. We have decided that a quick girls getaway to Hilton Head Island would be just the “fix” we need. I am so excited about our upcoming trip that I quickly ran to my closet to try to piece together everything I would need for our awesome day at the beach. I have decided to post some essential items that I think I will need at the beach and I need your help in letting me know if I will be “Cooling in the Shade” or “Straight getting Played”. So here we go below are some of my must have items for my trip to Hilton Head Island in May…..did I mention that my girls are “Divas” so I better “BRING IT”!!!!!
Gucci Sandals-$395.00 Ok my birthday is in April and these will be a gift to myself so “Whatever” I am getting the sandals. (rolls eyes )
Neutrogena Sun block-$7.00 to me this is the best sun block ever; it’s not thick and goes on light and smooth.

YES!!!!! I have Pharrell Williams smash hit “Happy” on repeat because today is the first day of…wait for it…….. SPRING!!!!!!
The blooming flowers, the bright sun and the warmer weather always make me feel more optimistic. The season which happens to be my favorite closely followed by autumn of course, is welcomed by fashion lovers everywhere as we scramble to decide on pastels or neon’s. Now, I know that you were watching every runway show this season right? I knew you were, so let’s define some of the hottest trends for spring. One of my favorite looks from the runway would be the sheer pieces that I have seen in almost every designer collection this season. You can wear thin layers of chiffon which allows us to embrace our curves in such a feminine way which can transform from day to night.
Graphic, bold geometric patterns are all the rage this season as well and not just for fashion. Bright and bold colors in a variety of stripes, solids and patterns should make the top of your shopping list as well. I personally like the bright colors I feel it’s the perfect way to introduce summer with greens, yellows and pinks. Now the flat shoe trend….well I will have to warm up to that idea but my list has been created and off I go to create my spring wardrobe.
Today I was on my good friend blog site and found the best post of the day! Tami who has a FABULOUS blog by the way called (www.talkingwithTami.com) please check out her blog if you are a lover of all things fashion, fun and fabulous. I was going though her blog posts and ran across something that made my heart smile today! If you are a huge Sarah Jessica Parker fan then when you view this video it will make your heart smile as it did mine! Thank you Tami for posting such a “Feel Good” post.
This video made my love for SJP grow deeper!!!! Enjoy! I sure did!!!
Chanel Fall/Winter 2014/2015 Fashion Extravaganza!
BRAVO! BRAVO! BRAVO! Mr. Lagerfeld for not only creating (yet again) some of the most fabulously constructed, yet feminine and sexy posh garments I have seen this season. To be honest I am not surprised that Lagerfeld was able to produce such a stunning and electrifying display of his latest collection on March 4th, 2014. It was like I was waiting to see just exactly what he would do this year, I am sure that we all can remember the show at the airport hanger? Of course we do. Well my little “CoCo puffs” Karl did not disappoint us and decided this year to take us well shopping but only in the finest Chanel of course darling.
I had to watch the Chanel Show at least 3 times; it was exquisite to say the least. The runway was turned into a Chanel supermarket and the models walked this way and that way and some shopped and some gave face but with all that going on you were still focused on the clothing. There were Chanel products everywhere more than over five hundred brands and grocery carts and Chanel chains that dubbed as grocery bags, Chanel chips and sodas….”sigh” that man gave me LIFE with this collection!
The shoes, oh the shoes were so mesmerizing that they almost prompted me to take my next 3 paychecks and purchase not one but two pairs of the sneakers and tall boots. I can’t even express in words what I witness and I will not bore you with my “blah, blah & OMG’s” so enjoy the 13mins and 57seconds of pure bliss below when you click on the link and some of my favorite looks from the collection as well “jouir de” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lxdZvYU_N78
“You’re Broke Because You Want To Be”
I think that the title has done one of two things, pissed you off so much that you will continue to read this post, or made you realize that the title represents how you feel and you are in desperate need of help to change your situation. I will admit when I first saw this book in the library I “gasped” and was like “What!!!!” oh no he didn’t!!! Well yes, yes he did and now after reading the book I can truly say Thank You Mr. Winget for enlightening me on my very own personal situation and how to move forward.
This is not your typical “Say it, Pray it and Bam you have it” kind of book, no this book offers great principles to live by and he doesn’t sugar coat a thing ( soft hearts beware ) he gives it to us straight with no chaser. There are plenty of self help books out there that will tell you to cut off everything from your cable bill to your hair and only eat lettuce and water, this my friend is not that type of book. This book is great and if you are trying to maintain a budget and change your spending habits this is the book for you. I found that many of the principles he speaks about I am currently doing now so I think I am on the right track. If you really want to change your situation you are going to have to be willing to do some strange and uncomfortable shit….point blank. It didn’t take you overnight to get in the mess and trust me it will take longer than overnight to get you out of it wait a min “cough” get us out of it….but there is hope. I have included some of my favorite quotes and phrases from this book, trust me it’s worth the read.
The Real Secret!
“What you think about, talk about, and get off your ass and do something about comes about”
“The fact that you don’t have any money is a result of all your other problems, your priorities are out of whack”
“Be angry that you messed up. Be angry that you didn’t keep your word to your creditors. Get mad at yourself for all your mistakes. Get sad, get mad, and then get on with it”
“Life is not made up of the haves and have-nots-but instead of the wills and the will-nots”
Larry Winget quotes
